The First Joints

These are actually from a while ago – I’ll try and take photos of all the work I’ve done up to this point, as the semester is already about 10 weeks old.

The two 3″ x 3″ joints are actually extrusions from two grids we had made previously. Each joint was tasked to consist of multiple pieces that could be taken apart but would also lock together. They were first constructed in taskboard, and then in basswood. The photos compare the task board and basswood versions of each joint.

The second joint, exploded so that all the individual parts can be seen.
